Examples in the Community
IIHR collaborates with community-based organizations, public agencies, academic partners, and health-focused organizations to turn data and research into meaningful community action. Explore examples of our past partnerships and the publications, reports, and resources developed through this work.

The Ritter Center
IIHR partnered with the Ritter Center to conduct a qualitative investigation of the root causes of homelessness by interviewing members of the community who were currently experiencing homelessness. This work resulted in a peer-reviewed manuscript published in Discover Mental Health.
Play Marin
IIHR partnered with Play Marin to conduct a mixed methods study of their current students and alumni. The holistic evaluation found that students had access to Play Marin’s recreational opportunities were physically and mentally healthier than the national average. This manuscript is being reviewed at Preventive Medicine Reports.
Center for Domestic Peace
IIHR, Dominican University of California and the Center for Domestic Peace partnered for four years under the Administration of Children and Families (ACF) grant sponsored through Futures Without Violence, on the project entitled In This Together: Ending Children and Youth Exposure to Violence. The systematic evaluation of the therapy program was successful, and the findings have lead to other funding opportunities.
